File Update

First of all, I have updated all the source files for my Half Life 2 work which included the latest versions of my *.VMF WIP files .

Second thing, a few request have come in for building prefabs for Half Life 2 so my prefab town map has been uploaded which can be downloaded from Here. You're free to use in any of your maps please send me a copy of your map so I can take a look, also I will host it and it may give other people ideas/confidence to have a go at mapping.

Third, other good news I'm still getting asked about and thanked for the AvP2 files, which its nice to know the community is still is alive and kicking and my old files are of some use.

Forth, I also think it's about time I upgraded this aging desktop system, so Im going to start saving up for a new system. I am looking at the new Intel Q9450 'Yorkfield' with a X38 based motherboard, something along the line of the Asus Maximus Formula, 8Gb of RAM and Vista 64. Im still not sure if I should go with the Nvidia 8800/9800 or go for ATI Crossfire X3870 X2.

Google Sketch Up

One of my friends pointed me in the direction of this programme it is quite interesting, it sort of reminds me of a CAD programme I worked with a long time ago, to achieve the object you want requires a bit of planning. It has few simple tools, circle square, freehand and arc, by combining the use of the few tools you can make more exotic shapes. However at the moment I find it quite buggy and frustrating and the lack of some tools such as arrays make some object hard to create. The follow me tools is produces some questionable results but this is most probably down to my lack of skill with the software. However if I create anything of note (it is quite a quick and simple programme) over then next few days and if I get into it I may post a new section.
